Lovely waterbucks and the White-fronted bee-eaters are very special when seen like that, both on the sand wall and on the branch \O

The elephant looks very young -O-

Nice giraffe portrait ^Q^

Especially in summer with the dense vegetation duikers are often invisible after having spotted one ;-)

At first sight we only saw something running around, something black, brown and white and then we realized that there were wild dogs exactly at the same spot where we yesterday spent time with the lions

Image

but this time it was even a premiere for us because there were also wild dog pups around although they were no longer that young, however, they still could be identified as pups.

Image

Soon we also found a place to park on the roadside although at that early time of day quite a couple of cars were already around as well as a couple of safari vehicles

Image

Image

in the beginning we thought that it will be again such a “Follow the wild dog Race” but we were wrong as most of the dogs started to relax so that we also could enjoy that wonderful sighting.

Image

Image

The older wild dogs found a place to lay down whereas the younger ones were extreme playful

Image

always on the search for a buddy to make nonsense with.

Image

As there were so many wild dogs around we first concentrated on the pups

Image

as it looked as if they will stilll stay a bit longer at that place

Image

and also from time to time even one older dog got invovled into the game of the younger ones.

The only drop of bitterness was a man in a car who not only to our annoyance but also to others did not switch the engine off but after several hand signals he understood and it got quiet and also the wild dogs got even more relaxed.

Image

Image

Luckily at that sighting the grass was not that high at least were the younger ones were playing so that we started to fire away. Two of the adults were collared

Image

Image

and after a while the pups needed a rest and cuddled up together for a break

Image

At least most of the pups were ready for a break so that we also could take a look around and also admire the other wild dogs.

Image

Image

As there were at least lying one wild dog here,

Image

some were standing there and looked around

Image

Image

and the younger ones still were tired from their wild play.

Image

Image

to be continued............................
