To see an animal suffer is terrible, especially when you can do nothing😢
It really is terrible!

Good to hear that it looked as if he will recover \O
Yes, timing is everything in Kruger.
Michele Nel wrote: Tue Nov 12, 2024 7:41 pm Oh my word ...too many stunning sightings . It really does seem that you are the leopard magnet :)
Thx for sharing Flutts ...and I do love that bottle of wine. :)
Thanks Michele, we were lucky with leopards this year. :-0 I also liked the bottle, and the wine wasn't bad either! lol

I have also been watching for updates on "Frikkie". Since the injury he has been seen fairly often hanging around close to the road -O- He still looks fine, so hopefully it isn't too bad.
So glad to hear that!! ^Q^ ^Q^

Here's a video of Frikkie. :-( (It was very windy! O** )

After leaving Frikkie, when we approached the 'leopard bridge' there were lots of cars but we couldn't see the leopard in or around his tree. We then saw that everyone was looking on the other side of the bridge, and we eventually spotted him in the distance but he soon disappeared so we carried on.

A few kms further on we saw some ellies running. They were trying to catch up with the herd closer to the road. It's not often you see big ellie herds around Satara! O:V We then found ourselves right in their path to cross the road but the car in front of us wasn't moving (the Toyota) so we had to drive offroad to get past them. They were very brave (or stupid) to stay where they were. O**

Here's a video of the first leopard when it crossed the road. Our vehicle is not the noisy one. O** You can see the other vehicle leaving when the leopard is right next to them! 0-

Catching up, Flutts! :o0ps:

Wow, lots of sightings, Satara really is a great area!

The saddlebill is amazing, I must say. we also had a loony one in the parking lot at a dam this year, seems they don't care? lol

Congrats on the wine and a great view from the hut! X#X

And of course leopards galore, plus lions of course. Very lucky! O/\
