I don't know if we ever found what this was, from Talamati hide.
Looking at the insect book it is a bit like the Leaf-cutting bee nest?

Do you have only this photo?
Leaf-cutter bees nest in holes in plant stems, dead wood, cliffs or old walls and use the leaves to make the nest comfy. This is something else.
