It's often said that bulls are usually darker than cows and that the bulls darken more than cows with age

I think it's pretty common knowledge the bulls darken with age?
Don't know if it's the sun, though...

Have never seen a dark bull in the north-western populations (KTP, Augrabies, Mokala, Etosha)
