^Q^ ^Q^ Watching baboon antics is as entertaining as watching the squirrels in the KTP - so animated and interactive \O \O

I've never seen a Wattled Plover/Lapwing before - only White-crowned - ^Q^ ^Q^ will have to keep a keener eye out for the different species. :ty:

We got back to camp at about 10.30am and Jonty got to work in the box to cook breakfast. ;-) We had eggs, bacon, pork sausages, fried tomatoes and toast, and champagne and orange juice.

After breakfast we cleaned up and I got my camera and decided to take a walk around camp. My dad went to lie down and Jonty and Anna went back to their tent. I could see there were ellies right at the fence, in front of the derelict tents, so I went back to call Jonty and Anna. We went to stand on the verandah of the one of the unused tents to watch the ellies.

There were also ellies on the other side of the river.

The ellie at the back would not leave the other one alone!

We'd agreed to go out again at 3.30pm...my dad was in the car at 3pm telling me to go and fetch my brother. O** Jonty and Anna arrived promptly at 3.25 and we were off. We decided to go down the H4-2 to Croc Bridge and back on the S28.

A Tawny Eagle (I think).

Image

Brown Snake-eagle?

Image

The stormy skies with the sun peeking through made lovely colours!

Image

Image

The colours in summer are so intense!! ;-)

Image

There were no major sightings to slow us down so we were soon at Croc Bridge. We made a quick pit stop and then it was onto the S28. It was lovely to see the wildbeest calves.

Image

Look how small it is!! 0/0 :-0

Image

The S28 was also quiet but I did manage to find a Verreaux's Eagle-owl. O:V

Image

Anna loved the pink eyeshadow! ;-)

Image

By the time we got back to camp there was a big storm brewing so Jonty got the fire going straight away, but not before popping a bottle of champagne to celebrate our wild dog sighting! :-0

Image

Mommo looking bewildered....he looks like this in almost every picture we took! 0*\

Image

Jonty managed to get the food cooked just seconds before the storm broke. We had chicken and wors with potato salad but I didn't get any pics as we were all trying to find a dry spot to sit in and eat our food. O** I actually wasn't feeling that great and had to force some food down. As it was pouring with rain we called it a night soon after we'd finished our meal, and agreed that there was no point in leaving at 4.30 and would rather leave at 5am...and so to bed. 0/*
