Incredible sighting by my friend Susan Harwood at a private reserve near the Kruger Park last night .

Not the type of “Leopard in a tree” pic you’d want to frame - but a fascinating example of rare leopard cannibalism. The massive male is known but the victim is yet unidentified, so it may well have been an unfortunate case of a stranger involved in a territorial dispute. We can only speculate!
Ananzi (as he is known) only jumped back up in the evening, took a couple more bites then took the carcass down the tree.
