Hahaha, and I thought you had gone down South for the weekend
while I enjoyed your beautiful

British weather...
Not saying anything about your photos... Dunno how to express myself anymore.
Great stuff!

I wish Mel.
Thanks for the comments Mel, Nan, Fluts & Lis.
So, as we wandered around in the crater, several bird species popped by to see us.
A Brown Snake-eagle made a fly-by as we went to the restaurant to eat lunch.
A Grey Lourie eyed us from it's perch.
This Three-banded Plover was busy searching some pools for food.
A pair of Reed Cormorants displayed on a dead branch.
Speckled Pigeons were always present around the chalets.
And Helmeted Guineafowl were always along the roadsides somewhere.
A Coqui Frencolin posed nicely in the roadside for me.
And an African Darter caught a tiddler in one of the dams.
Not to be outdone after the Darter's display of fishing prowess, a Malachite Kingfisher tried his best.
All in all, some nice birds to be seen. Some more to come later though....

Thanks Nan, Lis & Fluts.
Birding around the camp or in the car parks to the hides was a great way of getting close enough to the birds to get reasonable pics. The birds are tamer in these areas as they are more used to people wandering around.
Crimson-breasted Shrikes were common on the paved areas outside our chalet.
As was this Blue Waxbill.
Crested Barbets hopped around in the leaf litter looking for food.
While a Cape Wagtail favoured the concrete steps along the lawn.
Black-collared Barbets were in the bushes overhead.
And Fork-tailed Drongos preferred prominent lookout perches.
Close to the hides, Sabota Larks searched the verges.
Tawny-flanked Prinias favoured the boardwalk edges.
and a Rattling Cisticola skulked in the bushes next to the bakkie.
But best of all was a Green-winged Pytilia which hopped around on the car park searching for seeds.
