According to the textbooks, these vervets should be the same as in SA with regional differences in coloration The other species does not extend into Botswana south of the border to Caprivi.

The darters are gregarious there, something entirely new to me

And the pinkish flowering creeper plant is a Water Morning Glory, Ipomoea rubens.

The small-scale farmers in the panhandle area are one of these people suffering from human wildlife conflict. The elephants and hippo like their crops, such as maize, millet and sorghum. These settlements are in an area where ellies move through betwen dry and wet season.

Lloks more than brilliant there - Sigh - Also the food and all the trees there and even so many different Birdies on top - Must have been a more than pecial cherry on top during that trip

After a long research, I have found a kind of proof that there are Malbrouck monkies in the Okavango Delta, but it seems only in the "pan-handle" part. Mopiri Camp is just inside the panhandle

The malbrouck is found in central and south-central Africa, ranging from the Albertine Rift in DR Congo west to the Atlantic coast and south to northern Namibia and Zambia west of the Luangwa River. It lives in marshy forests, savanna-forests and montane forests up to an altitude of 4,500 m (14,750 ft).

The "vervet" info. is so interesting - seems like most of us had never known about this closely related group. The ears on the baby are HUGE , unlike the adults. Perhaps they, unlike human kids, listen more than they talk. The papyrus makes for such a lovely backdrop.

You will get lots of papyrus and cattle egrets very soon

Unfortunately, I never got to see the antelopes and that is one of the reasons for the "almost" in the title

Yes, darters are mostly seen singularly. Also in India I saw many, but always single individuals
