Hey All;

While in COVID-19 lockdown at home, I may as well start a TR for our last trip in February

We were all in need of a break by the time that the mid-term holidays came around, this would only give us 3 days in the park but we took a look anyway, it was a week away so we did not expect to find any accommodation. Luckily for us there was a few spots open at Marloth Park, so we immediately booked.

Roxy and Kelly had plans that they could not cancel, so were going to miss this short trip, they will be back with us in August for or annual winter trip.

The trip would be Friday 28th February to Monday 2nd March, but on Thursday 27th, I got the idea to leave that afternoon, so with a scramble to get the shopping done and find a place to stay.

Rush packing...


We ended up at a place called Acra-Retreat Mountain View Lodge at Waterval Boven. A great little place for a stop over and good value for money.

We were allocated a small cottage away from the main building, which was perfect for us.

We checked in and went to the Main building deck for a drink


With Roxy and Kelly not being there, Cailey and I are the only two drinkers of the 4 of us


The service was great, drinks were cold and there was an awesome view.

We had eaten at Millys on the way, so it was an early night (after a few drinks with Cailey), tomorrow is Kruger

Ja, we shall have to do trip reports for months!

Not a bad find for a stopover with such a short time for planning it. You were lucky

At least you do not have to drink alone, which they say is a bad habit. I am not too sure about that, as I practice it rather frequently
