Phalaborwa Protests

Post by Richprins »

Traffic Policing Affairs Limpopo

LIMPOPO – Motorists travelling on the R71, between Namakgale and Phalaborwa, are urged to use alternative routes.

A statement by the media liaison officer of the Department of Transport and Community Safety, Mike Maringa, says the road is being blocked by protesters.

“The road is completely closed by trucks lined along the road. Traffic officials are on the ground redirecting traffic,” Maringa said.

Phalaborwa is open again, but not sure for how long. The protesters held the entire town hostage on Friday, no way in or out apart from through KNP.
