South African National Parks (SANParks) intends to form Public Private Partnerships (PPP’s) in which it gives selected private parties the following rights:

To operate astronomy products in the KNP – three Bid Packages will be available:
Bid Package 1 (North): Punda Maria, Shingwedzi, Mopani and Letaba
Bid Package 2 (Central): Satara, Olifants and Lower Sabie
Bid Package 3 (South): Skukuza, Berg en Dal and Pretoriuskop

To build, operate and maintain spa products in the KNP – four Bid Packages will be available:
Bid Package 1: Berg en Dal and Pretoriuskop
Bid Package 2: Satara, Orpen, Tamboti and Talamati
Bid Package 3: Letaba, Olifants, Balule, Tsendze, Mopani and Shimuwini
Bid Package 4: Punda Maria, Pafuri Border, Shingwedzi, Bateleur and Sirheni

Even the small bush camps will be upgraded to tourist villages soon

Spa products in bushveld camps

They are really desperate to mess KNP up even more the only people that will visit will be snobs and people who wants to be served and pamperred, because when you love nature you will not want to go to a damn spa

A spa at a main camp i can understand but they even talking about Tsendze and Tamboti



What homework did they do to decide people preferring a tented camp must get a spa

I wonder what the usage figures are for the Skukuza spa. I don't think they will break even there, and that is with the town people and hotel.

SANParks does not care if there is demand for a spa. PPP = transferring risks from state institution to Private Party.

That's the new trend in all the different branches
