Just read on FB that people are stuck in Skukuza due to all the flooded rivers around camp!

‎Ian Weyer‎: Left Pretoriuskop @ 6 for breakfast in Skukuza.
4 hours later we are back. All roads are closed. Did not want to leave via Numbi and re-enter at Phabeni or Krugergate. All dirt roads are closed. Mainroad closed at new bridge. The new bridge is under water

The Southern part of the Park received a lot good rain since last night so much that there is water all over the place. In order to ensure that visitors are safe during their stay in the Park, we have closed all the gravel roads south of Sabie River until further notice. We would also want to inform our visitors that the road from Skukuza to Malelane and Pretoriuskop is closed at the Delaport bridge. Access road between Skukuza and Lower Sabie is also closed for now until the water at Sabie River subsides.

The rain subsided in the catchment area and the Sabie is already lower than this morning. Should be fine as long as the rain does not come down again like last night.

An update on road conditions in the Kruger National Park

16 January 2017

Herewith an update on the road conditions in the Nxanasteni region of the Kruger National Park:
#Balule
The water level on the S89 is high and guests are therefore advised to make use of the S91 and S92 as well as the causeway to access Balule.

#Kaleka
Due to overflowing the H1-9 is closed. Mopani Rest Camp is accessible via the Letaba high water bridge.

#Shimuwini
The camp is inaccessible.
