With the lions all parking off and vehicles piling up along the road we continued up as far as Hapoor where there was a lone jackal

Image

After the lion excitement and the fact that it was still raining at times we decided to head back south. Along the southern access road there was a hartebeest with a good Addo mud pack

Image

We found a good number of buffalo near Peasland with some nice size bulls bringing up the rear of the herd

Image

Back down at the south gate, it seemed we weren't the only ones planning an exit O** lol

Fortunately he turned off into the bush about 20m before the perimeter fence \O

Two trips into the park, lion sightings twice... that's a pretty good outcome lol And quality sightings on top of it. ^Q^

Paul Kruger is massive and impressive, but when and where did he break off one of his tusks? Already before translocating or only afterwards?

Sad news about Jill. Does anyone know why / how?

Lovely shots as always, Peej! X#X :ty:

The aminals look so different in the rain, like the lion with the flat mane! lol

I'm sorry, but that burst eyeball on the one lioness freaks me out completely.

Paul's tusk damage is relatively recent, but I'm not sure how it happened... presumably in a fight at some point. And there really hasn't been much news on Jill other than the fact that nothing except her collar was found 0:

Yeah that eye is a real nasty one... it just seems to be getting worse and worse. I've asked one of the section rangers if they'll intervene, but haven't heard back yet -O-
