Hello, aat!

Day 1 Part 5:

So after a quick trip into the delightful little hamlet of Komatipoort for leachy to stock up on supplies...which apparently did not include whiskey...Scipio, my cooler and I went on an afternoon trip, followed by the leachmobile...he is too snobbish to travel with us low-lifes... :O^

Scips had a new rental car while his 4x4 was having it's 5th or 6th new radiator installed...I forget which.

It was a Dodge Caliber or something...can't quite remember...but this colour:

Image

I demanded to drive...it was a nice strong car with ever so many buttons and switches! Tribute to Scipio here...I had had more than half a beer by that stage, and he only gave a nervous and fatalistic grin or two as I pottered along the tar road...with a cigarette and my camera in one hand and a cooldrink and binoculars in the other...simultaneously steering with my knees and opening the sunroof with my toes! \O

Once again the animals mostly had their backs toward me... -O-

RP: "They gain less heat with their backs toward the sun, you see!"

Scipio: "But just now they were on the other side and still had their backs toward you!?" :-?

RP: "Exactly!" ;-)

Another masterpiece to show aat later! \O

Image

And turning away from the ghastly sun onto the Gomondwane loop:

Not much beside general game. This is normal when travelling with Scipio...he is a bit of a jinx on game viewing...

RP: "You know, Scipio, old chum...you are a bit of a jinx when it comes to game viewing...

Tomorrow: one of the best sightings ever! O/\

Not sure about that vehicle to drive about in Kruger with, no toom to swing the lens about. I would have taken the roof off to get some flight shots. O**

You are quite an expert on bumshots RP. \O

Sorry, Dewi...I guess the newer vehicles don't have tooms? -O-

Or does one need to fit a toom "after market"?

What does a toom cost these days, anyway! =O: =O: =O:
