Near Balulama we said farewell to the barn owls which had intrigued us over the past few days

We stopped for coffee at Aucherlone.
There we said goodbye to Kyran and Caitlin who were fascinated by this koring kriek

We then set off over the Lower Dune road, destination Rooiputs for our last three nights in the park

You have caught the birds in some very "interesting" poses lol lol

Nice shots of the giraffes \O

The Owls' nest is bigger than I thought; it even has two access "doors" ;-)

Nice assortment of sightings. I like to compare the difference between April/May and Sept - Nov park conditions and sightings. I can certainly relate to those days when the animals are "no-shows", but thank goodness for the birds in all their splendor. Then, when you least expect it, a wonderful encounter presents itself. 0() 0() 0()

We got to Rooiputs and set up camp in campsite no 4 again
It felt a bit like home, having been there only 2 weeks ago and setting up in exactly the same position as previously
After a shower and a well deserved refreshment we decided to take an early afternoon drive down to Leeudril and back.
Just south of the Leeudril waterhole we spotted some cars in the road.

The reason
This cheetah, posing beautifully under a tree next to the road.

Even though there was quite a traffic jam, we were lucky enough to get a spot perfectly close enough to her for our liking

She (I think it is a she :-? ) got up and started to take an interest in some game on the other side of the valley

She was right next to our bakkie as she slowly started stalking them
