On the way back to camp we spotted a lilac breasted roller

and not much else

( but we weren't complaining )

After a shower and rest back at Rooiputs we had an uneventful trip down to TR and back

and decided to stay in for the evening

Besides the sound of the generator at the Rooiputs Lodge our evening was blissful with the moonrise making the evening

That lion looks like he*s biding his time to become the new king of Kij Kij. Very impressive already [Luv]

I can see why you would prefer sitting at Rooiputs camps instead of driving quiet roads O:V O\/

A very handsome lion, even if blonde and not one of the famous black-maned ones \O

Brilliant photos ^Q^ ^Q^

Wednesday 28th April 2021

Our early morning drive the next day saw us heading up north again.
The cloudy skies made for a spectacular sunrise,

The trip up as far as Melkvei was quiet, but we were rewarded with sightings of this wildebeest

As well as of a secretary bird, both in the soft morning light.

With very little to see in the way of game, it wasn’t too long before we were north of Melkvlei and on our way to Kransbrak
Here we were once again in luck

A mother cheetah and her two cubs were walking down the road in our direction.

The trio quickly approached us and then moved over to the side of the road, and up onto an embankment
