Our route for the next morning was along the H7, onto the S39, S40 and back onto the H7.
It was an overcast day and the wind was still blowing.

As we approached the turn-off to the S39, we found some spots...two cheetahs!!
There was only 1 other car at the sighting and we watched them for about 10 minutes before they moved off.
A female ellie with a strange tusk.
On the S39, we came across a stationary car. The driver waved us down and told us there was a very aggressive ellie just around the corner, so they had reversed out of the way. We decided to venture on cautiously and eventually found the ellie about 500 metres further on. It was a large bull standing in the road and eating from the trees on the edge of the road. There was no way were going to get past until he moved off, so we waited...and waited...and waited!

We only took videos of him so these are some screenshots.
After sitting there for about 20 minutes

a small breeding herd arrived and also decided the road was a good place to stand.
We had been stuck here for about 45 minutes and there was now a queue of cars behind us, and on the other side of the ellies!

Thankfully, someone behind us was feeling braver than we were and slowly inched their way past, giving the ellies some encouragement to move off!
On the S40 we found this Martial with a Swainson's Spurfowl.
We had no other noteworthy sightings and the weather had taken a turn for the worse. The wind had picked up even more, it was raining intermittently and it was freezing cold. When we got back to camp it was too cold to sit on the verandah, so we decided to take a catnap under the blankets.
