Re: Advertising
I am a mod on another forum for one of my other hobbies
The same thing was happening there. And the minute I reported to the administrator, the ads disappeared
But it was in the mod section, which isn't open to public view.
So these people must have high level spyware ??

Re: Advertising
Dzombo do you use the https (secure) forum URL for access ie https://africawild-forum.com/ not http://africawild-forum.com/ (although when testing it goes to the secure site by default) or any plugins you have installed for advertising sites like alibaba or wish ? I have tried with my various chrome ,edge ,firefox browsers but dont seem to see anything on my side logged in or out . Only other thing I can think is they somehow detecting overseas ip and inject the images into these links but then Graham would not have seen them .
Re: Advertising
They disappeared when I logged on.
These adds were highly intrusive. Just picture a normal forum page. Put an ad or banner at the top and the bottom. It is annoying but the brain can filter them out. Now put an ad between every single post - the same ad and the size of one of Peter's images - the forum becomes unreadable. Most of the ads were for Elephant Sanctuary and then later for African Love (dating app?).
Definitely something underhand happening here. Nothing to do with the browser.

Re: Advertising
Thanks Dzombo .Please let me know if they start up again .
If they do then if you ,Graham or Mel can try get a screenshot of them also try if you can to right click on the page and select view page source .The page will open up the source code it wont mean much to you but if you can copy that into a text program like notepad and send it to me in a pm I might be able to track down the origin of them.
