Wednesday 8 June 2022

After our two nights at Kieliekrankie we were set to move off to Rooiputs for the last leg of our trip.
Before doing so, we decided to take a quick drive to see if we could maybe get lucky.

Maybe an elusive lion, leopard cheetah or anything
Well we saw nothing
O/ O/

We got back to camp to pack up and saw this steenbok at the waterhole

Our drive down to Twee Riveren and then onto Rooiputs was equally quiet, bar this nice flock (is that the word?) of ostriches

And a grumpy tawny eagle

We got to Rooiputs in the late morning and set up camp, as one does

We then spent a chilled afternoon in campsite no 6 before heading out on an evening bumble

Our trip up to Kij Kij and back was again uneventful
(Who says the Kgalagadi always provides great sightings?) :-? :-?

Well we do, because on the way back to camp, this beauty suddenly appeared on the dune to the east , in perfect light, albeit a tad too far away for our cameras
O/\ O/\ O/\
