Day 4: Around Tamboti: H7 - S39 - S36 - S145 - S140

I had been up late in the night (coooold) to watch the Honey badger riding the camp - nevertheless I was up early and had a long walk in the camp to watch the sunrise and the early birds

Day 4: Around Tamboti: H7 - S39 - S36 - S145 - S140


We had a late morning outing on the H7

very cute





and spent an hour at the view point, happy to see nothing else than river side trees



We had to go to Orpen gate to get changed our rental car.

Again on the H 7 Ostrich girls and Ellies with little ones.



Later a larger breeding herd on the S39 with the ladies feeding on the road and two tourist vehicles watching them from close - a nice break and time for coffee and snacks

i wonder if the honey badger was not one of the local scavengers at tamboti on his way to the camp ??

did you not have them scurrying around the camp at night ??

Of course, yes! The first night the HB came and had a look when I was sitting outside, but it was a shy one and did not come close .

The next night, there was a mother with offspring and I got them on video - at 02:40 in the wee hours

It was about time for lunch and we met another Giraffe and a Bataleur on the way

We were close to the camp on the H7 ... and there it was - a traffic jam to spoil the end of this elephantastic Kruger day

Well best thing you can do is close windows, turn off engine, close your eyes ... concentrate .... play music in your mind and dream off


Time to relax


Lovely serenade - and voilà: traffic jam has disappeared


Time for drinks and braai to start - oi, there is something on patrol:

On the S12 Impala at Girivana WH and some Zebra of all ages






Towards north we passed Timbavati picnic site without a lekker brekkie and found a herd of Buffalo on the S39

Back on the tar road (H1-4) crossing the Olifants River






And the detour - S91/S92 with this one-tusked Bull in the Spa
