Giraffes doing something

An omelette looks so simple and so easy to make, but actually making a REAL omelette is not that easy. The French brasseries are the places to get a superb omelette especially if filled with ham and cheese.

When my husband and I travelled often in France, it was our preferred lunch (with a salad) and also cheap

not sure how they messed it up the three egg omelette not sure about the real ones in France ,they are probably very nice ,the basic ones seem to be fairly easy even I make them regularly for breakfast

often get confusing looks when you stop to smell or photograph the flowers also

That evening we waited for the Sunset drive to arrive .The Sanparks OSV arrived and there was a very friendly driver but as usual I forget the name .

We left camp expecting to go to the Gate and fetch more participants but the guide informed us we were the only guests on the drive

Near Afsaal we came across a security patrol which was nice to see as well as some Hyenas




We searched around for some Male lions that had been reported in the area but did not find them . The BnD sunset drive was also visible driving the S114 looking for the lions and we did the tar but no luck .Still was a very informative enjoyable drive .On the way back we tried the S131 loop and the river road and apart from running into a hippo there was not much else to see.

The following morning some dehorned unicorns


At Gardenia hide some Geese and flower


Some snapping Turtles


On the way to Biyamiti a Vulture


At the weir the after affects of the floods was visible the area totally silted up


The birds were still around some fishing Hamerheads




We caried on to Pretoriuskop to check in .

After check in and unpacking we went for a quick drive doing some loops around camp
A Malachite kingfisher


A saddlebill at Shiltahwe dam


An there were now multiple Hippos we had only ever seen the one

The Hippo gave us a smile in the sunlight and we left for camp

I think the Weir is a type of Sand dam . meet some interesting people around Pretoriuskop

The following morning we left early and headed off to the dam as is our usual routine . We took the sand loop roads on the way and by the time we got to the Dam turnoff there was a two car roadblock at the turnoff .Lions had made kill during the night and were finnishing off what looked like a small Zebra


The Hyenas were around but not brave enough to try their luck yet


The Lionesses swopped taking turns but with the low light it was not easy getting pics


Soon the morning OSV started rolling in and we took our leave and carried on .An early flower


As we were driving along a movement caught my eye and there was two Sable in the bushes


We drove the New unmarked road to the S65 and found a ground hornbill


Carried on to the Phabeni for the bathrooms and then onto the S3 where we found this very young Zeebra still shaky on its legs


A lone Dagga boy


We found some very spooked Impala on a stone mound but even though we waited and looked we could not find the cause


We headed back to camp for Lunch .

I love those bare stone boulders around Pretoriuskop and there is also a lovely view
