Kruger National Park elephant tramples tourist to death
SANParks urges the public to avoid sharing visuals after an elephant tragically killed a tourist near Malelane Gate in the KNP.

SANParks announced that an elephant trampled a man to death in the Kruger National Park yesterday.
According to SANParks’ joint media statement issued by its head of communications, JP Louw, and the Kruger’s communications and marketing manager, Isaac Phaahla, the elephant charged and trampled a tourist near the Crocodile River at the Malelane Gate.
SANParks officials rushed to the scene to attend to the matter and provide support to the victim’s family.
The statement further said the investigation into this incident is ongoing.
“Due to the sensitivity of this matter, we appeal to the public to refrain from posting any pictures or videos of the incident and the victim,” read the statement. “SANParks’ board members and management extend their heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family and friends.”
