BTW, later that morning we found yet another three lions underneath a tree far off in the Nossob riverbed a bit north of Kwang. They still hadn’t moved in the afternoon.

Now for the kill... O**

At Rooikop SO saw a bird earlier than I did (a rare occasion). It was a black headed heron who kept marching away from the lens I had pointed at him. Grrr! Eventually I got hold of him…

… and he even made a kill! Poor scaly-feathered finch…

The heron even dipped the finch into the water to make it easier to swallow… 0-

And gone was the finch…

But then again, I had gotten something more exciting than lions. (I can’t believe I just said that… 0*\ )

The highlight of our afternoon drive marked the jackal pups at a den 15.7 k’s up the road from Nossob.

Ja, I'm quite chuffed with that one as well. O\/
And if I had known that I would get an opportunity like that,
I would never have made SO stop for the very first one we saw.
The one when my camera got smashed. 0*\

Talking about camera: I got it repaired at zero cost.
The technicians or somebody in the line between the shop
and the repairing pulled my (original) battery from the
cam. As that wasn't mention on the repair order, we had
to write it off. So at the end, the repair of the camera cost
me R400. Still not bad for a self-inflicted smashing. O**

nan and General Gump - thanks you! 0/0

Day 9
29/10/2012 Nossob to Urikaruus

Time to move camp once again. Off we were to Uri for our last leg of this trip. We made the gate a tad past 6.15 am and were already back at 6.30 am. This guy had caught our attention and he was clearly on the mission to get to Nossob waterhole.
