Re: Marakele National Park
Thanks RichPrins and Nan
It actually is a little gem of a park, and I really heve enjoyed every visit,
Nan, unfortunately, Baobabs are one thing it doesn't have. This is an old Marula. It was extremely slippery. In the Kruger, they would have closed all these little roads I love to explore.

Re: Marakele National Park
A-mazing again!!!
How many nights did you spend in Marakele, Petre? And would you agree with my impression that the park is somehow a mixture of Kruger and Kgalagadi? (Roughly spoken...)

God put me on earth to accomplish a certain amount of things. Right now I'm so far behind that I'll never die.

Re: Marakele National Park
Thanks Mel
We spent 5 nights there this time.
The first picture i posted might have a little Kgalagadi magic, but this is probably the only little patch that might remind one of the Kgalagadi.
I would be more inclined to say it's like Pilanesberg with mountains. I did not take many pictures of the mountains, but th3re are some impressive kranses, and there is even a vulture colony (although i did not see a single vulture, but i did not go to the lookout point as one has to leave the park to get there).
I am not a Kruger expert, having only spent about three days there and those no further north than Olifants camp, but the flatter sections could easily be in Kruger, although the bird species are a bit different.
