Remember that this is only a three-star hotel. Isn't Sun City at least four-star with fancier rooms and furnishing?

I can't find the mistake in the prices. Rates are cheaper after Christmas and New Year which makes sense.

For a single person the accommodation at R1550 is marginally cheaper than staying in the bungalows at R1600.

Why are hotels so expensive in SA? They are not at all in line with the cost of living in South Africa :-?

I don't think that the employees of hotels are better paid than other employees.

Well, we don't really know who the employees are here yet. If they are SANParks, it means they are civil servants, and those are very expensive compared to privates. --00--

Another factor often quoted is that the services are provided "in the bush and far away from comparable urban facilities."

I don't buy that, as Skukuza is an urban facility and anyway a contract for employment is just that, so nobody is being forced into anything. As with other Kruger ventures, the hotel does not need to pay rates and taxes, water, electricity, not even pay off a loan or mortgage or security or many of the other expenses that make private enterprises so difficult in SA!

Before judging let's see the % of occupation in a year's time or maybe even 6 months.
