Pilanesberg - Where to find leopard and lion?

Hi All
I'm in the middle of booking a 2 night trip to Bakgatla.
My family and I want to see lions and leopards. We haven't seen both in the past few years!! where are the territories of them since I'm not that familiar with the Pilanesberg.
Will appreciate all the help!

Hi Ossendryver,
We have seen lions frequently on the tar and dirt roads between Bakgatla and Manyane Camps as well as in the Mankwe way and Mankwe Dam areas. We were not that lucky with Leopards, but a friend of mine saw one last Friday in the Lenong area. Perhaps if Steamttrainfan read this, he can also advise. They are lucky with Leopards.
I also see on the public sightings thread on the Pilanesberg web site, that there were wild dogs near Bakgatla 2 days ago and near Manyane last week. We have seen Cheetah a few times between Mankwe Dam and Pilanesberg Centre and also between Mankewe Dam and Bakubung.
Eland and Black Rhino were also seen a few weeks ago. You can google Pilanesberg Wildlife Trust and get the Public sightings Maps. They are posted every day.

Hi Ossendryver,
Peeps saw Cheetah on the Thutlwa Road 3 days in a row after 3 in the afternoon.
We saw Lion-kill on the main road from Bakgatla 5.45am just after the turnoff to Rathogo Hide.
Rhino - I will PM you.
I confirm that sightings are recorded daily by peeps on computer - the only ones not visible to public are Rhino and you won't get any info either.

I'm also just wondering if there's a viewing deck at that camp so I can stay up at the waterhole the whole night.

Check with the camps - some rangers have done some 'great' favours....

Rangers are sent of 'favor missions' with three trackers,
and no ways do I ever need an audience.... :oops:
