The ancient Hiogi people of the region used to revere the bears so much that they reproduced their images onto rock faces along the littoral. Their simple, cartoon like drawings were thought to be offerings to their Deiety, Bhoo-bhou, a young bear that was forever getting the Hiogi out of close shaves against their mortal enemy, the Hranger.

They are the deposited remains of wave-cut platforms that have collapsed onto the beach. \O
