I would not mind driving 100 km. to get there, but from here it is rather far ;-)

The yellow-billed ducks flying past is a gorgeous pic! Not that the rest are bad ^Q^ ^Q^ I love that sometimes you see the water mongoose O/\ O/\

Hi PR, I usually make up my mind the night before when I've seen what the weather-guessers have to say. I won't be going again until I'm back from KTP so I guess my next visit will be in October. Maybe we should arrange a mini-meet with some other Greenies?

Now that Rondebult is out of action for the near (hopefully) future, I've been visiting Marievale a little more often. This reserve is without doubt one of the best birding spots in Gauteng, if not South Africa. This visit was on 23 August.

If you want to see Malachite Kingfishers, this is the place to go, especially in the late summer and winter.

BluTuna - it might just be a pectorial sandpiper. There was a sighting this week posted on the FB page of Marievale.

There are a couple of photographers going out on Saturday (28 nov) from 5 to 5 (day visit) should you and PRWin be interested. O/\ organised by Harvey Grohmann.
(I am attending my granddaughter 21st. \O )
