What Nigel Dennis (Where to watch game in the Kruger National Park) says about Pretoriuskop:
Pretoriuskop is the third-largest camp in the Park. It is also one of the highest, coolest and wettest areas in Kruger. The latter results in tall grass and thick bush, making game-viewing difficult: during the high rainfall years the grass can reach heights of over two metres! However, there is a good game population, and I have had some very worthwhile sightings during long, dry spells, when much of the grass cover has been eaten or flattened.
The surrounding area holds plenty of white rhino, buffalo and kudu. Predators are well represented, with regular sightings of lion and leopard. Immediately west of the camp, several roads wind through an attractive area of rocky outcrops and koppies. Leopard are seen here from time to time, although, apart from the odd kudu, baboon troops, and small herds of impala, I have not had much luck on this route. However, it is a pleasant scenic drive, and very popular with visitors staying at Pretoriuskop. After exploring the loop roads, it is a good idea to head off on the H2-2 Voortrekker road. Wild dog and cheetah are sometimes seen in this area, although in the case of wild dog, sightings are unpredictable.
Another productive route to take is the main H1-1 road that leads to Numbi Gate, and turn right along the S1. I have seen plenty of lion and white rhino along this route, and the large Mestel Dam attracts general game.
A longer, but worthwhile drive would involve continuing on the S1 and onto the S3. This area can be exceptionally fruitful if you are looking for the Big Five.

About the name:
Pretoriuskop is named after the nearby koppie. Between 1836 and 1860 the Voortrekkers investigated a variety of routes through the Lowveld to set up trade with the Portuguese harbors in Mozambique. In 1848 during one such expedition was led by Carolus Trichardt to find a wagon route from Lydenburg to Maputo, then known as Lourenço Marques.
A Voortrekker by the name of Willem Pretorius died of malaria along the way and was buried at the foot of a koppie and the outcrop was named after Willem Pretorius. The Voortrekker road runs South East of the current rest camp.
Pretoriuskop was a favoured outpan on the ox-wagon-route to Delagoa Bay and was built in the mid 1870’s by Alois Nellmapius.
The H2-2 Voortrekker Road which passes by the camp is the original route taken by trekkers when they ventured down to Delagoa Bay. In later years Sir Percy Fitzpatrick and his dog, Jock, and many other transport riders and hunters, used this route.

Sorry TD, I have only stayed in the 5 sleeper bungalows, but I’m sure someone will have info on the 3 sleeper units.
I do believe from mates that the ablutions for all the huts can be an issue in the morning
What's the code of the unit?

The code is EB3, we have stayed in Pretoriuskop many, many times but we always camp or take the huts that sleep 2. We were in Pretoriuskop in December 2012 (we left on 23 to come home) and the camp was full BUT there was always hot water,we never had to wait for a shower or even wait to use the sink to do dishes after dinner. This year we will be in Pretoriuskop from the 26 to 30 Dec, maybe it will be different

We'll be staying at Pretoriuskop for the first time in August, but I think we're also staying in one of the EB5's.
