IMO, with this statement, SANParks are admitting that they can't control poaching in their areas. What RobT has mentioned is good food for thought. SANParks are opting for the easy way out and at the same time benefiting from financial gain.

If we take the latest poaching figures for 2013, 1.5 rhinos are killed per day in Kruger and 1 rhino per day is killed outside Kruger. How is moving them protecting them

Remember, this is in response to a parliamentary question, as per the original extract. SP have been deadly quiet re. rhino sales since the trouble began. The word "saving" seems to have been added by the journalist...Dame Edna was more referring to the spreading of rhino to new areas...a subtle difference?
Very few black rhino are poached in Kruger.
Rhino are sold according to market value, or should be, which fluctuates as some farmers give up on buying animals with a death warrant!
