Re: Mooiplaas Picnic Site
Mooi plaas Picnic spot is a few km's before Mopanie when driving up North on the H1-6.
It has the usual amenities Kruger picnic spots have to offer.
There are two thatched structures - each with a different view.

Re: Mooiplaas Picnic Site
Interesting info is that Mooiplaas was designated to become Mopani Camp's "camping area" a long time ago, and there was quite an outcry amongst regular visitors!
So that was stopped and Tzendze happened!

Mooiplaas Picnic Spot is about 7km/20 min from Mopani Camp, and is right next to Tsendze Tented Camp. It is 41km/1hr 45 min from Letaba Camp.

A Heksie visit in 2013:

We got to the end and had to have a loo-break so we had a quick stop at Mooiplaas. As I left the girls room I overheard the Mooiplaas-attendant/helper/protector say something in a language I didn’t understand at all except one word ‘python’ (Yes I do listen to other people talk around me so beware) And I was like ‘who, what, where and how’ He called us closer and showed us that the python was in the tree holding up the lapa.
He then got a stick and started poking the poor slithering critter to get him to move out of the tree, it took a while but he started moving out of its hiding place…
Then something you don’t see everyday, sorry no pics of it, but the python ‘flew’ out of that tree and then started slithering away from us. Here are a more pics of my best sighting of the day;
