The KTP is good to see interaction between Spotties and lions. I remember hearing somewhere that lions will be driven off a kill if they are outnumbered 3 to 1. Think it was in one of those doccies by the Jouberts

Four hyenas tried their luck with this lioness as she approached the waterhole

and she had to trot away

But the backed off when he appeared

only needed a flick of the tail to keep them at bay :-0



And at Urikaruus waterhole a lion was driven away by 4 spotties despite his bravado

I don't know who laughed or who was in charge of the light.

The two other lionesses ran away!

It came to a stalemate; I think that the lioness was causing too much damage to the hyaena clan for their liking but it could have been that the hyaenas detected the approach of the two huge black-maned lions that we saw at that location the next morning.


Hunting cannot be considered a sport as all contestants in a sport should know they are playing the game!
