Kwang will always have a special place in my heart due to the following sighting that we had on our December 2008 trip.

So do I! \O We went looking for those darn lions, but only found Cape turtle doves :O^ 0*\
@Lisbeth - We also have a lot of turtle dove moments! ;-) Because of that sighting, we always head to Kwang late afternoon when we are at Nossob. This time, we again sat at Kwang as the sun started to go down(also due to Duke and Sharifa's recent encounter with the lion pride O** ),but the lions did not fall out of the bush this time. Instead we got turtle doves and a brave springbok who wanted a drink.

On the verge of running....

But he didn't and faced down the turtle doves! ^Q^ ^Q^ And got his drink in the end!

The next morning we passed Kwang on our way to Grootkolk - the lions had taken over the parking area! :O^

Found these two cats in the road just north of Kwang before the turn-off to the pump house in Dec 2011.

The male clearly had enough late that morning, but stayed with the female because his brother / friend was only 50 meters away.

Is there a difference in the Kwang and Cubitje Quap pride? Most of the time I saw lions closer to CQ moving north / south. Then there is also the Rooikop gang of car chasers that may also move north. All I can say this is lion country. \O
