New security at Kruger gates...

Post by Sprocky »

There has been a lot of discussion regarding the security, or lack there of, at the gates to KNP. Recently in the news was the idea of newly trained security guards taking over from the current disfunctional private company manning the gates.

It gives me great pleasure to say, what a pleasure!!! \O These guys might be new, but I sincerely hope they keep up the good work! Today was the first time in many a year that I have noted every car being searched on the way out, including mine. \O The gentleman that searched my car even apologised for the inconvenience, I told him it was a pleasure to be searched and not at all an inconvenience.

Hopefully this will be the way forward, at least it is a positive start to controlling what leaves the park. ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^ \O

Good news, I think we must make a point to encourage them to keep the standard and we must let the compliments flow. ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^

Stunning stuff at Numbi this weekend, both in and out!

My car and boot searched!

The new SANParks security guards are exremely serious, and confirmed they check staff and delivery vehicles too. As per pic below...

Also be aware all adult passengers must provide proof of identity...ID book or drivers' license, and literally sign in! Excellent!

Personally I don't think it will last very long, and School holidays and public holidays will cause massive pileups with thorough searching. On the other hand, I don't think most tourists will mind, under the curent rhino threat?

Let's see! \O
