Hi everyone,
I decided to ask this question to the many people who I thought might have had the amazing opportunity to experience seeing a caracal! I love caracals and would give anything to one in the wild! I have never heard of anyone ever seeing them in Kruger, but in the Pilansberg we missed one by a couple of seconds because we were watching two black rhinos...Catch 22...Caracal or Blackie?!

If any of you have seen a Caracal in Kruger please post your pics (if you have any) and where you saw it/them as I am just so interested in these rare, elusive cats!

BB we saw one near Shingwedzi in 2008 but no time for photos as he crossed the road before I could get my camera , my mother in law also so one a few days earlier than us

Saw one at Rabelais Dam near Orpen on a night drive 20 years ago!

I have never seen 1 in KNP, only 2 times in the wild ever, both in KZN.

Heksie has seen them in KNP and has pics

Kgalagadi is not the place to go, there is only some little cats and a lot of Snakes, Scorpions.........

No luck with caracal in Kruger recently. saw one in the late 1980's I think on Doispane and then this one in Aug 2007, H4-2 close to Lower Sabie
