The tiny shiny is a Monolepta sp.
Backyard wildlife
Re: Backyard wildlife
Some more macros from my garden over the long weekend.
This beetle made arrived with a crash on Friday evening.

A tiny Carpenter Bee taking a drink on the Bottle-Brush bush.

Another tiny bee.

A Harlequin Ladybird.

A tiny spider with only 3 legs left.

A Planthopper or a Snout Bug?

A female Mosquito drinking nectar. While I was taking this, I had four of her sisters taking a drink from me!

Lastly, a Water Boatman in my swimming pool.

Hunting cannot be considered a sport as all contestants in a sport should know they are playing the game!

Incredible shots BluTuna - absolutely fascinating. There is another incredible world at that level isn't there?

Thank you MITH! I'm constantly astonished by the complexity that nature has produced; especially now that I'm starting to get results that do it justice.mouseinthehouse wrote:Incredible shots BluTuna - absolutely fascinating. There is another incredible world at that level isn't there?

How many things that we do not see, only because we do not watch or are not looking for them. They are actually fascinating

Sometimes I only see these creatures when they move because they are so well camouflaged!Lisbeth wrote:How many things that we do not see, only because we do not watch or are not looking for them. They are actually fascinating![]()

Sometimes it’s not until you don’t see what you want to see, that you truly open your eyes.
