Urikaruus

There are some very subjective arguments/discussions we all get involved in
Canon or Nikon
Landrover or Landcruiser
BMW or Mercedes
Shower or Bath
Grootkolk or Urikaruus
We have seen what Grootkolk has to offer, so what about Urikaruus - here we go.
Urikaruus is a wilderness Camp situated on the bank of the Auob Riverbed and is roughly mid-way between Twee Rivieren and Mata Mata.

Four cabins built on stilts are ideally situated to get a clear view of the waterhole. The cabins are built on two levels and you can keep an eye on the waterhole from the deck of the kitchen or the balcony of the bedroom.

This camp has the best waterhole in the Park. It is relatively close to the cabins and easy to watch and great for photography.

Large Camelthorn trees surround the camp and are the ideal hideaway for lanners to swoop down on doves that come in for a drink.
The yelping of the jackals and bat-eared foxes will alert you to the arrival of the leopard that comes in so silently that you would miss him if they did not sound the alarm.
There is a resident Cape Fox (Charlie Fax) den in the Camp, close to Cabin 4. Watch out for her pups early mornings and evenings when they come out to play.
Hyenas have a den close to Urikaruus as well and come regularly to the waterhole to cool off. It can get interesting when the hyenas meet up with a lion when he comes in the drink and they are around as well.
Wait to see all your pics and hear your stories about Urikaruus and surrounds
