Progress has been slow:

But we are near the end.
I have had to make a change to the design. The original plan needed more bricks and I don't have the energy to go through sourcing more of the same again.
But it will still be awesome.

Why the piece of "wood"? Maybe to keep in place the new black bricks until the cement has dried -O-

Yup. It's a wooden frame around which he built the sloping bits. Will hopefully slide out when the cement is dry.

When finished , will need to properly inaugurated with a good Cape Red wine , and there is a ritual to that : Once the fire is lit , open the bottle of wine , and immediately burn the cork in the fire
So in preparation for my first braai this weekend...

Went to the off licence (our version of a café - that is allowed to sell alcohol) around the corner from work
They had quite an extensive range of wine, and quite a few from SA. But 95% had screw on caps 0*\
Eventually found one hidden behind some others which has a cork - a Boschendal.

^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^ Dzombs!

Ja, corks have run out, and agreed not the same with screw caps! @#$

So you can start the braai with the frame! ..0..
