Re: Krugertripping this Summer...
Day 25… may the awesomeness continue
So I drive and I see something shining in the road up front, bunt not sure what it is, I drive further…
I see then a snake slithering, and out of the bush jumps a mongoose!!!!! WHAAAAATTTTT!!! You must be joking!!!
It is a Kruger stand-off and we are the only spectators. On the one side (rooting by mum and sis) a slender mongoose and on the other side (rooting by Heks) a Mozambican spitting cobra… we spent 12 minutes with them until they parted, so unfortunately we have no winner but it was the best time spent this whole trip. Let the pictures do the talking (sorry for the amount of them)

As they parted we drove next to the cobra we looked at us, and after a few kiekies we moved on as time was moving against us.

We also got some MR Majestics and if you look in the background a BBJ as the last sighting of the day.

I just couldn’t smile and as we arrived at camp, whilst packing, braaiing and with our sundowners we just couldn’t stop talking about all our magnificent sightings for the day and the Kruger stand-off as well. This is definitely a day that would be branded into my mind as the best sightings day forever.
To be continued…

Oi
Amazing scene you witnessed
Wonder if this was a brave mongoose mom who had her babies somewhere nearby

Snouted Cobra or Mozambique Spitting?

Awesome night adder sighting
(I had one as a pet as a junior)
Wow
, standoff in KNP
How did you keep the camera so still to take pics.
It would have been chaos in my car.
Definitely a once in a life time sighting
Brilliant

Re: Krugertripping this Summer...
I would be talking about either one of those snake sightings for years - excellent shots too!
You really are having a memorable trip, I hope our upcoming trip is half as good.
