Identification
Notice the dark reddish eye and the bright yellow underside that includes the throat and vent areas, as well as the underwings (as visible in flight).
Distribution
Sub-Saharan Africa: South Africa to Angola and Kenya
Taxonomy
Three subspecies are recognized:[1]
C. f. flaviventris
C. f. centralis
C. f. occidentalis
Habitat
Forest, savanna and thicket.
Behaviour
Apt to sit in the top of a tree when calling.
