We have plenty Dark-capped Bulbuls visiting our garden and I've taken thousands of pictures of them. It was one of my dreams to see the Red-eyed Bulbuls and thought I'll have to wait until we visit KTP or Namibia one day. Last year during our 3 week winter road trip our last stay was the Karoo National Park. We were still busy putting up our tent and the next minute a pair of Red-eyed Bulbuls came for their afternoon bath right at our stands water tap.

Red-eyed Bulbul, Karoon National Park

"Hurry up Weaver, it's our turn now!"
Image

"Oh, the water is cold!"
Image

"Better get started, just now that weaver comes back"
Image

"Just check if my behind is clean."
Image

"Jip, fresh as a daisy!"
Image

"Darn paparazi, can't even take a bath in private when you're famous!"

This Red-eyed Bulbul is also from the Karoo National Park, Doornhoek Picnic Spot. He sat on the braai stand and every now and then he would drop to the ground and catch an ant.
