It's been suggested elsewhere that it might be a small Delagoa thorn (Acacia welwitschii delagoensis) ....

Without leave and thorn deatil one can only say that it is a Senegalia (Acacia welwitschii delagoensis would be Senegalia welwitschii delagoensis according to more recent taxonomy.

Interesting, because from googling and looking in my (very old) KNP tree book, it would seem that the Ochna species only/mainly occur in the very north (Pafuri and Punda) of the park. This tree, along the Timbavati road, was a lot farther south, but it also does look like a good match. Too bad that I didn't take any closer pix of the flowers

These are all flowers that I saw along the S36 in Kruger in mid-November 2014. I hope that it will be possible to ID them?

No 1 is an Ipomoea, there are many species and also invasive ones, the third of no 1 might be not the same as the first one, no 5. might be a Hibiscus

thanks for these further details, Toko. The 3rd of #1 was a different plant, I'd just thought that they were the same sort, but I can now see that they might not be And I'd not thought of hibiscus for #5 because the ones I notice are usually much taller. Many thanks for giving me some clues on these.
