Marie se draai/Marie se gat is a loop, about 11 kms long, with a waterhole in the middle. It starts about 5 kms south of Nossob camp.
Marie se gat or Marie’s Hole tells the tale of a determined wife who, when her husband started drinking too much and could not complete work on a borehole, rolled up her sleeves and continued with the rest of the drilling herself!

Great choice of waterhole. Those that followed my recent TT will know that Maries is one of the best drives to take. I will start off with a few lion sightings:
Solar panel pump working too good - the whole place is soaking wet lovie.
Maries in the Summer:
Traffic jam at Maries:
What a day and all those cars. Its just too much for me.

Mating goshawks - great sighting, Tina!
Although Marie hasn't been particularly productive for us, we quite like standing backwards in that
wanna-be parking bay because the vistas are rather nice.
But we always leave and go to Rooikop when the Nossob Crowd moves in.
