Re: Lizard Identification
Thzese are the Sand lizards recorded from Marakele
Spotted Sandveld Lizard Nucras intertexta
Holub's Sandveld Lizard Nucras holubi
Spotted Sand Lizard Pedioplanis lineoocellata
Does not really look like one of these
Heliobolus lugubris is very variable, but adults look like this
http://www.google.de/imgres?sa=X&espv=2 ... ,s:0,i:122
http://www.google.de/imgres?sa=X&espv=2 ... ,s:0,i:128
And I don't trust any of the SANParks checklists
Would go for this one
or ask J. Marais

Re: Lizard Identification
This Lizard was at the top of the mountain in Marakele during our November trip. I think it's a Southern Rock Agama, but not sure.

Re: Lizard Identification
I would rather think Ground Agama Agama aculeata distanti
But I am not able to distinguish them properly

Re: Lizard Identification
Hope you don't mind that I have added it because I thought it was quite a good shot to get all the features in one.
