Lis...if he had been born like that I'm sure it would have looked more "healed".

Groundscraper Thrush

We arrived at a dam that wasn't marked on the map, and it was surrounded by giraffes..we counted 17!!
Never seen so many together.

Two were getting ready to drink when another vehicle arrived and everyone got out!! The giraffes did not appreciate that and moved away!
These blobs were enjoying the sun...although the little ones were a bit restless. -O

This poor fellow had a very large tumour, although he looked healthy enough otherwise.

We went back to Mankwe Dam, and found this giraffe posing beautifully. It kept lifting its head and sniffing the air.

Anyone know what that's all about?

The sniffing giraffe is exceptional, Flutts. In fact I wasn't sure
which one to pick for a nomination. All of them would be worth it, IMO.
Strange behaviour, but it makes for super photography.

Lis - Wonder what she wears...Dior, Gucci, Chanel? -O
Dewi - If there were any predators around they must have been very well hidden! -O
Amoli - Hope you get to visit soon. We are so lucky to have a place like this so close to us!!
Mel - You are too kind!
nan - I suppose it isn't strange...just never seen it before.

Re: Our Pilanesberg Adventures
A lone sentinel.

This giraffe preferred the company of the wildebeest.

At last...our only ellie sighting for the day!!! On our last visit there were ellies all over the place, this time we searched everywhere with no luck!

Our last sighting for the trip - White Rhino!

So...no lions or spotted ones, but plenty of other game and still a wonderful way to spend the day! :D Until next time. oY:
