We were at site 27..Their son came running up to our site breathless to say a big lion was lying close to their site on the outside of the fence. I grabbed camera and headed to their site and there was 'Brunette' who got up and walked to the gate and crossed over and disappeared to the river..Shot througha gap in the fence so excuse the rushed pic The Mopani camp/Tzendze area is PRIME lion country!!contarary to what most visitors believe

Padding along just north of Eendrag Windmill

I took this pic with my old D700 at 3200ISO and there isa faint hint of noise (20 mins before actual sunrise) If the new 36 mp D800 can achieve the same IQ then its very attractive ...Hmmm...but then my current camera is far better over 6400 ISO than the great D700 was at 3200..In these low light situations Hi ISO performance is key and I wonder how the D800 will do in this area?
Buff on the menu
