My most successful road and don’t fall over is the H4-1. It’s definitely not my favourite road, especially after 8am, but over the years it has delivered more sightings that interest me than any other road.
Examples:
Leopard kill, leopard on a kill, 4 different leopard in 1 day, leopard cubs twice and the most number of leopard over the years.
Cheetah kill and 1 other cheetah sighting.
Lions on a kill, a few failed lion hunts and most number of lion over the years.
3 different Wild Dog packs.
2 Honey Badgers
Black Rhino

Hmmmm BC...that's a difficult one!! I have to say that the H4-1 has also been pretty good to us too, with lots of lion and leopard sightings over the years.
The H1-4 (between Satara and Olifants) has also given us our fair share of good sightings....lions, leopard, hyenas.
If you'd asked me 20 years ago I would have said the S100 without a doubt....but now? Not so good!

Lekker topic BC
Definitely the H7 (orpen-satara tar road)
Lions, Lions, Lions.
Wild Dogs x3 sightings
Leopard
Serval
Civet
Genet
AWC
Side Striped Jackal
and plenty of general game!
(My favorite road is the S39 but that is off topic)

It depends what you want!
Solitude, waterhole-sitting, tar/gravel, birds, scenic views...
Also changes over the years!
But big-five wise over the last 5 years or so the S-25 Malelane/Croc Bridge road has been outstanding for me and colleagues, followed by the Pretoriuskop-Skukuza tar road, believe it or not!
And not just because I'm a local...I've been all over!
Thanks for the maps, Flutts!

Never seen much on this road. I know some people have had rare antelope sightings. But I don't like this drive.
For me - the S89, S90.
Always seen loads along this road except my last trip to Kruger when they were building that wier along the Olifants and I only saw construction vehicles.

Its a bit difficult to point out a specific road, but the best one in the south must be S139, followed by S119 and S25 and S110. Pity about Biyamiti weir thats closed, because that's another favourite.

Hi
How has the S1 been left out????
This is definitely been my most successful roads. Often seen the big five in one drive!
After the S1 for me has to be the S100 seen loads and loads of lions EVERY TIME!! Literally have never not seen a lion while driving on that road!

But sightings minus bush atmosphere =ro...rather look at S90 and S143 and S56 for example for just as good and really great atmospheric sightings.

Hundreds, I agree PB, but I have a 5, 7 and 10 year old in the car, which limits the solitude bush experience because if they don’t see something every 10 minutes they start moaning, which causes me to blow a gasket and I would rather be in the city without kids at that time, so we have worked out a compromise :?
When they learn that there’s more to KNP and the bush feeling then things will be ok.
