Our one and only porcupine sighting was in August 2013 on the H11 just before Skukuza at about 8.30am.

We soon realised there was something wrong with it, and then saw a nasty gash on it's right cheek. This was probably why it was walking around in daylight.

At Last

After all these years and many trips to many Parks we have had only 3 sightings. On a night drive from Lower Sabie we saw one then early morning out of Letaba we saw a pair. Could not get a photo either time.

The third sighting was in the KTP in december 2012.
