Late one afternoon we heard some raucous crows in the area of the hide, obviously upset over something, as they wouldn't shut up for quite a long time. Curious, I went to the hide and discovered the cause of their concern. Seems their alarm calls brought out the jackals as well, but eventually the cobra managed to find a hole to slither down.

Who took the photo of you? Selfie?

Curious to see what condition the boardwalk at the hide is in. Last time it was appalling with one board severely broken and
you had to take real good care in the dark. Easy to let visitors sign a disclaimer that they can't hold SP responsible for
injuries and then just leave everything to rot.

You mean one wrong move and you could end up in the jaws of......

In December 2009 we "walked" this handsome guy all the way from Rooikop to Nossob. It was scorching and a real effort for him.
