I would have gone with Plains Zebra
The photo was taken in the Pongolo Game Reserve (the tiny KZN Wildlife park right in the corner between SA and Swaziland).
Unfortunately, that's the only photo I have from that sighting, and I am also pretty sure I have never seen any of the other varieties.

Ok Peter, so a little feedback after doing some research and it does indeed look like you have captured a pic of the Hartmanns as can be evidenced through this facial recognition profile doc.

Even more interesting is that Pongola do in fact have mountain Zebra in the park as well as the more common Burchells.

I'd say it's an
Equus burchelli, the facial stripes are quite typical, I think.

Okay Toko would tend to agree 2nd time around.
